Education

Highlighing local scholarships and enrichment programs that support lifelong learning for residents of all ages. Connecting the community to educational resources across Washtenaw County.

Overview

The goal of the education section of our website is to share programming provided at our three local school districts, Ypsilanti Community Schools, Plymouth-Canton Schools and Ann Arbor Public Schools and serve as a resource for educational opportunities and enrichment programs throughout the surrounding Washtenaw County. We will provide access to Ypsilanti District Library resources, tutoring programs, local college programs offered to youth; and provide resources connecting to grant and scholarship information for college students. Recognizing that learning and enrichment is a lifelong endeavor, connections to local programming for all ages will also be available.

Charter Township of Superior hopes you will take advantage of these offerings to see what opportunities exist for you and your family throughout our local Washtenaw community.

GRANTS & SCHOLARSHIPS

MET – Michigan Education Trust

MET is a 529 Prepaid Tuition Plan which allows for the pre-purchase of tuition based on today’s rates and then paid out at the future cost when the beneficiary is in college. Performance is often based upon tuition inflation.

The Michigan Achievement Scholarships are designed to help recent high school graduates in Michigan receive funds for continuing education. Eligible students could receive financial aid to attend a college or university with the Michigan Achievement Scholarship, or for a career training program with the Michigan Achievement Skills Scholarship.

Informational Sessions

Students and families are encouraged to join us for a virtual informational session to learn more about the Michigan Achievement Scholarship.

Students and families interested in learning about financial aid basics are encouraged to register for a virtual financial aid presentation provided by the MI Student Aid team.

Participants will be able to gather information on the following financial aid topics:

  • FAFSA application information
  • Federal financial aid programs
  • State financial aid programs

There are multiple dates and times to choose from and all sessions are free of charge and open to the public. Register for one session only, as space is limited.
