CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF SUPERIOR
FIREFIGHTER/EMT-B APPLICATION PROCESS
The Charter Township of Superior Fire Department is accepting applications from August 5, 2026 through September 7, 2026 for the position of Firefighter/EMT-B. This opening is a SAFER position.
REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license with a good record
- Michigan Firefighter I & II
- Michigan EMT-Basic
- CPAT required
- EMPCO required, unless DD214 with honorable discharge OR currently employed with another full-time Fire Department
BENEFITS
- 2026 Firefighter Pay: $64,986 – $81,798 — Top Pay at 4 years
- Holiday Pay, Food Allowance, Uniform Allowance, Education Incentive, Longevity Pay after 5 years
- MERS Pension Plan, 2.25 Multiplier, 10-year vestment, age 50 with 25 years of service, FAC based on best 5 years
- 12 sick days accrued yearly, 6 vacation days after 1 year
- MERS Healthcare Savings Plan
- Family Health, Dental, Vision insurance
- Current contract expires end of 2026
